Guided Technology recently assisted a rapidly growing Dental practice in Mount Kisco, New York as it moved into a brand new office location as a part of doubling its size.
Windows
2003 was selected for server-side software which was loaded and
configured on a RAID5 Dell PowerEdge 1600SC. Windows XP
running on Dell Dimensions with 2GM of RAM was selected for
workstations which were placed at the reception area and inside
each one of the treatment rooms. Dentrix was upgraded to the
latest version and used as the primary patient care &
maintenance application.
Using dual-display technology available within Windows XP, two display monitors were attached to each workstation in the treatment rooms. One display was a flat screen 32” Sony which patients to use to watch videos, TV, and observe their own records. The second display is a 17” Flat screen ViewSonic which simultaneously the Doctor can use to enter or retrieve patience information using Dentrix. In addition, a Dental Photomatic probe was configured so that the Doctor can take digital photos of each individual tooth (or group of teeth) before, during, and after procedures are performed. Photos are stored in a RAID 5 array on the PowerEdge Server and can be retrieved at anytime within seconds, displayed on screen or printed out to a HP Color Laserjet Copier.
